East African Self-Reliance Project
Team Fauchon worked with Horn of Africa Services (HOAS) to open a community sewing lab for HOAS clients in the spring of 2001 so they can learn to sew and, eventually, earn entrepeneurial income sewing native fashions. The community sewing lab will be available to graduates so they can use the machines until they are able to purchase their own.

If you would like to launch a similar program, the process is available for replication in almost any entrepeneurial business as a tool that many more people can use to strive toward self-sufficiency. For information, contact Horn of Africa Services in Seattle, WA.
